Getting Started

People say we’re crazy to give away so much for free! So, why do we do it? Actually, there are two reasons.

First, we honestly enjoy helping people . . . but we also know that once you have sampled our free materials, you’ll want our complete step-by-step conversation course—the only course that is fully integrated with the material on this website.

But maybe you want to start learning some Spanish right now, for free. Read on . . .

What’s your goal?

For most people, their Spanish goal can be summed up by one of the following statements:

How you use the material on this website will depend upon your particular situation.

Free Membership

You are more than welcome to come here and study for free. Sign up for a free membership and you can take tests and record your grades. Membership will also allow you to opt in to our mailing list (if you want) so that you can receive our newsletters.

Premium Membership

For those of you who want access to a lot more practice, a premium membership is just what you need. Hundreds of additional quizzes and tests, more audio, the complete daily word archive … the list just goes on and on.

Speak Spanish Conversationally

If your goal is to speak Spanish conversationally, then what you really need is a complete, step-by-step conversation course. A course like Camino. The title of our course means “Path” and it is the only course authorized to incorporate the material on this website.

The course is an app that will work on your mobile device.

It’s important that beginner’s quickly master the vowel sounds, so a good place to start is with the first five lessons of our pronunciation tutorial. When compared to the English vowel sounds, the Spanish vowels are short, crisp and pure.

Maybe you’re interested in grammar. When it comes to our grammar tutorial our general recommendation is to do the lessons in the order they are presented. This is not a hard and fast rule, but overall it’s probably a good idea.

Verb Drills

If you are taking a Spanish class, and your goal is to get a better grade, then you will probably study things in the same order as in your class. Our section on verb drills is sure to come in handy, as most classes place a lot of emphasis on this area of study.

¡Buena Suerte!

Whatever method you choose, we wish you mucha buena suerte (much good luck).
